chen guangcheng

This book is the final output of my Design and Politics workshop. In Design & Politics, we dissected how the shaping and cropping of images, and the decisive use of language, is used both to manipulate meaning and persuade public opinion in the mainstream media. I chose to reconstruct the story of Chen Guangcheng–a Chinese dissident who claimed asylum in an American embassy–and how this topic transformed into a visual metaphorical struggle of the US versus China.
